If you have been living under a rock, Android Wear started off with their smart watches in the mid 2014. Motorola and LG were the models that were intially released into the market. On the other side of the dice, Samsung decided to swoop in at Google just like any other Android smart phones are used to. But then again, it is just Samsung, so these smart watches are not solely a Google based device. Apart from Google, brands like Fossil are endeavored into the mix as well.

Causes for its failure – Pretty much every fanatic and potential buyers have been wondering how Android Wear Watch has been doing in the present market conditions. Well, seemingly enough, Android Wear Watch hasn’t allured the society as expected by the developers, it is said that there were only about 720,000 of these watches sold hand-in-hand in the entire year of 2014. Now that is definitely not a bad number for a new platform considering some of these devices never hit the stores for almost half the year, but however it is seen as decline in sales due to various factors. Some of the Canalys feel, it is the rough crop on and around the edges of the band that hasn’t quite gained a hot start up in the market, nor are the sales expected to tower up anytime soon unless they decide to make it a predecessor and actually reinvent adopting a similar make off of it. Also, the life of the battery isn’t good enough to withstand durability, and there are not many applications to make this device worthy of its price. These are a couple pinnacle reasons as to why the idea of Android Wear Watch has been a fiasco so far into the statistics.

Out of all the Android Wear Watches, it is estimated that Moto 360 comes out on the top. The estimation is however not something to be really surprised about, as its slick design has gotten itself a lot of positive reviews. Besides, Samsung has released different variations of the smart watches with different operating systems, and none has been really incorporated into the trend of market.

Comparison with Apple Watch

Both Apple and Android have given their best shot to make sure they live up to being their flagship watches. The reason Android loses the edge of battery life is because it stays on with the display showing time all the time whilst Apple watches get their upper hand here as they do not turn on until you move your wrist up for it to pop back on. Surprisingly enough, Apple Wear Watches look a lot similar to the Android ones. They are square shaped, as are Android Wear Watches (Except for a few Android Wear Watches that are round shaped), but however, once again, Apple seemingly beats Android to this as its premium material just enhances its final product by a very long shot.

Apple Watch may not have made its debut yet, not until April. But speculations have been made, no matter what the outcome of Apple Watch is, it is definitely going to be one step further ahead of Android smart watches. However, as for making an appropriate decision between buying a watch of the two, it is not really a hard task to do so if you think about it. It is a no brainer that it is better off to buy the watch relying on the phone you own. Although Apple might be cutting off the edge against Android Watches, it still does not make the decision a whole lot of complicated.

Conclusion – Android may have had a major setback in the market with their smart watches recently not getting as much attention, but there are always people who find its charm in it so it really depends upon features you wish to be in it, otherwise you are just squandering your money on it.

One of analysts has predicted that Apple will sell about 26.3 million units by the end of the year 2015 which is just approximately eight months after it hits the market, a quite interesting number, and would drive away Android out of the market if so were to happen.
